What's in the bulletin?
- In Quarter 2 (Apr to June) 2024, household spending growth (adjusted for inflation) was positive 0.2% compared with Quarter 1 (Jan to Mar) 2024.
- The largest positive contribution to growth in Quarter 2 2024 was from transport (showing a 1.5% increase compared with Quarter 1 2024).
- The largest negative contribution to growth in Quarter 2 2024 was from tourist expenditure (showing a 5% decrease compared with Quarter 1 2024).

What's in the bulletin?
- Expenditure by inbound visitors to the UK rose from £25.9 billion in 2016 to £28.2 billion in current prices in 2017, largely driven by an 8.9% (£2.3 billion) increase in expenditure by foreign overnight tourists.
- Domestic tourism expenditure by UK residents increased from £116.8 billion in 2016 to £119.4 billion in 2017, partly driven by a £0.9 billion rise in spending by same-day visitors.
- Outbound tourism expenditure by UK residents increased to £53.9 billion in 2017, mainly because of a £1.1 billion rise in spending by overnight visitors.

Expenditure on Healthcare in the UK
This report provides figures for total UK healthcare expenditure in 2013, as well as updated figures for 1997 to 2012. The time series, which starts at 1997 and runs to 2013, is used to analyse the main features of total healthcare expenditure, examining trends in healthcare expenditure per person and as a percentage of gross domestic product (GDP). Additional analysis looks at the split between current and capital spending and the division of spending between public and private sectors, as well as presenting an analysis of the composition of household healthcare expenditure.
