Paper 1: Sampling and estimation strategies for the Wealth and Assets Survey (Paper not available)
The Wealth and Assets Survey is a major new household-based survey beginning in July 2006. The survey will collect information on financial and non-financial assets of households and will gather detailed information on wealth components such as savings, pensions, investments, mortgages and debt. This paper details the sample design and estimation strategy.

Paper 2: Role of the UK Census Design and Methodology Committee
The UK Census Design and Methodology Advisory Committee has been established to review a range of methodological issues relating to the 2001 Census, both statistical and operational, with the aim to achieving high quality, consistent and comparable UK-wide outputs for the proposed 2011 census. This paper describes the areas for methodological review and the review timetable.

Paper 3: Small Area Estimation of Unemployment for Parliamentary Constituencies
The Office for National Statistics (ONS), in collaboration with the University of Southampton, have developed a methodology to produce model based estimates of unemployment levels and rates at local authority level. As unemployment is a key indicator of social and economic health there is considerable Parliamentary interest in deriving estimates at constituency level. This paper presents initial work in this area and identifies issues that arise in estimating at this level.
