Release: Population Estimates for UK, England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, Population Density Tables, 1981 to 2010

Estimates of the usually resident population as at 30 June of the reference year. The Population Estimates reflect the administrative boundaries that were in place on 30 June of the reference year.

Population Estimates for England and Wales at national level for Mid-2002 to Mid-2010 have been revised in light of the 2011 Census. The revised estimates were published on 13 December 2012 and supersede the estimates in these tables. The revised estimates are available on our website. Details of planned revision dates for sub national and UK level estimates can be found on the .

Population Estimates for England and Wales at national and subnational level for mid 2002 to mid 2010 have been revised in light of the 2011 census the revised national estimates were published on the 13 December 2012 and the revised subnational estimates were published on the 30th April 2013 both supersede the estimates in these tables.  The revised estimates are available on the ONS website.  Details for further population estimates releases can be found on the UK Statistics Authority Release Calendar.
