Thank you for your request. The COVID-19 Infection Survey is a representative household survey, which measures the number of people testing positive for infection and antibodies in the UK. The survey began in England on 26 April 2020 and was introduced in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland at later dates. Therefore, we do not have data prior to these dates. Our statistics refer to individuals in the community, by which we mean private households. These figures exclude infections reported in hospitals, care homes or other institutional settings.
- Our latest bulletin is accompanied by a separate dataset for each of the four nations in the UK: England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. In each dataset you can find the official reported estimates of percentage testing positive on tab 1a.
- In the dataset for England, you can find the modelled daily rates of the percentage and number of individuals testing positive for COVID-19 for the last 6 weeks by region on tab 1f.
- We provide a breakdown of positivity rate by sub-region for Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland on tab 1f of the respective datasets for each country.
Previous versions of the datasets are available here. In these datasets you can find this data for earlier time periods.
Please note these estimates are from our survey. You can find the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the UK, by nation, and by region on the Government dashboard, available here.
We do not hold data on cases of COVID-19 with other diseases, such as pneumonia.
