Your nearest playing field is metres from your home.
This is closer/further away than the average for your neighbourhood which is metres.
This is the nearest playing field for other people.
We use Ordnance Survey (OS) data to measure distance to your nearest public park, public garden or playing field. OS data cannot distinguish between public and private playing fields, so some of them may not be publicly accessible. Distance is measured as the crow flies.
In this case your "neighbourhood" is your Lower Layer Super Output Area (LSOA) if you live in England or Wales and your Data Zone if you live in Scotland. These are small areas with similarly sized populations. Our Census geography page has more information.
