You asked
I would like to access, if possible, a breakdown of the number of acid-related crimes/arrests yearly from 2000 through to 2017.
Added to this, a breakdown of the above by district would be gratefully received.

Thank you for your enquiry on the number of acid-related crimes and arrests from 2000 to 2017.
Unfortunately, we do not hold any information on the number of crimes or arrests involving acid or corrosive substances. The Home Office is responsible for the collation of recorded crime data supplied from the 43 police forces in England and Wales, but they do not specifically collect data from police forces on acid and other corrosive attacks as part of their regular data collection. This is because acid and other corrosive attacks resulting in injury are included in ONS published statistics within the category of assault with injury offences and assault with intent to cause serious harm offences. Unfortunately, it is not possible to disaggregate acid-related assaults from other offences in that category.
