Please supply an excel database that shows the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE) - estimates of annual earnings by 4-digit occupation by age group and country (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland) for specific SOC2020 employment groups over as long a time period as data is available for (ideally 2010 minimum). The employment groups are:
- 1255 Waste Disposal and Environmental Services Managers
- 2141 Conservation professionals
- 2142 Environment professionals
- 2461 Quality Assurance and Regulatory Professionals
- 3550 Conservation and environmental associate professionals

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request regarding estimates of annual earnings by 4-digit occupation by age group and country (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland) for specific SOC2020 employment groups over as long a time period as data is available.
The Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE), carried out in April each year, is the most comprehensive source of earnings information in the United Kingdom. ASHE is based on a 1% sample of employee jobs taken from HM Revenue and Customs' Pay As You Earn (PAYE) records.
While it would be possible to produce an estimate of annual pay at this breakdown from this source, we wouldn't recommend it as small sample sizes would result in volatility in the estimate that would make it difficult to interpret and unreliable. An alternative would be to use a lower level such as 2-digit occupation by country and age groups. The increased sample size may give reasonable estimates. While we do not routinely produce these estimates from the ASHE, it would be possible to request an ad-hoc analysis to be produced. You can make a request by contacting the earnings team (earnings@ons.gov.uk). In line with ONS charging policy, there would be a charge for this service depending on the amount of time taken to develop our analysis and undertake quality and disclosure control processes.
