You asked

I am looking for data on cancer related mortality after solid organ transplantation and am trying to find the national mortality rates for cancers from 1992-2000, to compare the transplant recipients against. I have found the more recent direct age-standardised rates per 100 000 divided by site and sex (2001-2022), do earlier ones exist?

Thank you for your request.

We have not produced the analysis you require on cancer mortality rates for deaths registered between 1992 and 2000 before. However, the number of deaths by ICD-9 code are available in our 20th Century Mortality dataset and populations data for the years you require can be found on the ONS website, these data will allow you to calculate the mortality rates that you need.

Alternatively, we can create a customised output for you via our user requested data service. Information on cancer mortality rates for deaths registered between 1992 and 2000, along with other special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order.
