We are responsible for the production of mortality data for England and Wales. This is driven by information collected from the death certificate at death registration. National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Therefore, we do not hold the requested data for the whole of the UK. Should you wish to obtain this information for Scotland and Northern Ireland, the NRS and NISRA can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk respectively.

2020 - 2021 data

Deaths by local authority and health board provides hospital, care home and hospice deaths alongside deaths in private homes and other communal establishments on a weekly basis.  This publication is updated every Tuesday.

2020 data will be available after the publication of the Deaths Registered Series in July 2021.
