I have searched your website but am unable to find the earliest statistics for dementia sufferers, dementia diagnoses or Alzheimer's diagnoses. If you can provide this urgently required information, I would be most grateful.

Thank you for your enquiry.
We do not hold information on how many people in the UK are living with diagnosed dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
However, some information on dementia prevalence in England is available from Public Health England: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/dementia-profile-march-2018-data-update/statistical-commentary-dementia-profile-march-2018-update.
NHS Digital also regularly produce statistics on Dementia and Alzheimer's diagnoses, which you may find helpful.
Some dementia statistics are also available from the Dementia statistics hub produced by Alzheimer's research UK: https://www.dementiastatistics.org/statistics-about-dementia/prevalence/
We publish mortality statistics for England and Wales. Data for 2013-2018 is available from our explorable dataset: https://www.nomisweb.co.uk/query/select/getdatasetbytheme.asp?theme=73. You can filter the data by geography, age group, sex and underlying cause. Underlying cause is coded using the International Classification of Diseases, Version 10 (ICD-10) where the full definition of codes are available here: http://apps.who.int/classifications/icd10/browse/2014/en#/V01-V99. Deaths where the underlying cause is dementia are assigned the ICD-10 codes F01 or F03. Deaths to Alzheimer disease, the most common cause of dementia, are assigned the ICD-10 code G30.
The total number of deaths in the UK are available here: https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/populationandmigration/populationestimates/datasets/vitalstatisticspopulationandhealthreferencetables
