Data about domestic abuse faced by South Asian women. I wanted to find out what the statistics for South Asian female victims is because there tends to be a stigma around reporting domestic abuse for victims to be able to report a case.

Domestic abuse is often a hidden crime that is not reported to the police. Therefore, data held by the police can only provide a partial picture of the actual level of domestic abuse experienced. One of the strengths of the ONS Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) is that it covers many crimes that are not reported to the police and provides reliable estimates of domestic abuse.
Prevalence of domestic abuse by victim characteristics, which includes ethnicity, are produced annually from the CSEW. The latest estimate for the Asian or Asian British ethnicity can be found in Table 6 of the Domestic abuse prevalence and victim characteristics tables.
