Please include the following information for each of the following financial years; 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24: 

  • Total number of EDI staff employed for each financial year  

A breakdown of the staff employed including: 

  • The job titles  

  • The pay band associated with each role

You have asked for information against the financial years 2021 to 22, 2022 to 23 and 2023 to 24.  The data we hold is presented as month-end snapshot positions, and therefore in response we are providing the month-end position as at 31 March 2022, 31 March 2023 and 31 March 2024 (the end point of the years you have specified). 

31 March 2022 

At the snapshot date, the following equality, diversity and inclusion roles were occupied: 

  • 2 x Head of Culture, Inclusion and Wellbeing – Civil Service Grade 6. Please note that at the snapshot date, we had two occupants in the role: the permanent occupant was on paid maternity leave, with a temporary occupant covering the role in their absence. The role had a wider remit than equality, diversity and inclusion, also having responsibility for culture and wellbeing initiatives.

  • 1 x Head of Inclusion and Diversity – Civil Service Grade 7. 

  • 1 x Diversity and Inclusion Lead Practitioner – Civil Service SEO. 

  • 2 x Diversity and Inclusion Practitioner – Civil Service HEO.

  • 1 x Diversity and Inclusion Officer – Civil Service EO. 

31 March 2023 

At the snapshot date, the following equality, diversity and inclusion roles were occupied: 

  • 2 x Diversity and Inclusion Team Leader – Civil Service Grade 6. Whilst presented in roles of the same titles, in practice these were different roles. We had a permanent colleague in the main Team Leader role and a temporary colleague engaged on a specific project. The main role had a wider remit than equality, diversity and inclusion, also having responsibility for culture and wellbeing initiatives.

  • 1 x Head of Diversity and Inclusion – Civil Service Grade 7. 

  • 1 x Diversity and Inclusion Senior Manager – Civil Service SEO. 

  • 2 x Diversity and Inclusion Manager – Civil Service HEO.

  • 1 x Diversity and Inclusion Officer – Civil Service EO. 

31 March 2024 

At the snapshot date, the following equality, diversity and inclusion roles were occupied: 

  • 1 x Head of Inclusion, Culture and Wellbeing – Civil Service Grade 6. Please note, the role had a wider remit than equality, diversity and inclusion, also having responsibility for culture and wellbeing initiatives.

  • 1 x Head of Diversity and Inclusion – Civil Service Grade 7.

  • 1 x Senior Inclusion and Diversity Lead – Civil Service SEO.

  • 3 x Inclusion, Culture and Wellbeing Officer – Civil Service HEO. 

Additional notes: 
  • The roles of Head of Culture, Inclusion and Wellbeing from March 2022, Diversity and Inclusion Team Leader from March 2023, and Head of Inclusion, Culture and Wellbeing from March 2024, are considered to be broadly the same role despite the titles varying (with the exception of the temporary role engaged on a specific project in March 2023). 

  • The roles of Head of Inclusion and Diversity from March 2022, and Head of Diversity and Inclusion from March 2023, and March 2024, are considered to be the same role despite the titles varying. 

  • The roles of Diversity and Inclusion Lead Practitioner from March 2022, Diversity and Inclusion Senior Manager from March 2023, and Senior Inclusion and Diversity Lead from March 2024, are considered to be the same role despite the titles varying.
