I am interested to obtain data on outcomes of family court cases, e.g. how often delays in the courts lead to suicides; how often shared lives with orders are granted when there are no safe guarding issues. Currently there does not appear to be any data released on this.
Would ONS be responsible for this, or would a freedom of information request be more appropriate? What is the situation if such data is not currently collected?

Thank you for your enquiry relating to the outcomes of Family Court cases.
Unfortunately, we do not collect the data that you have requested. We publish data relating to crime statistics from two main sources: The Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) and Police Recorded Crime (PRC) data. Neither of these sources hold data relating to Family Court cases.
Statistics relating to Family Court case outcomes are published by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) on a quarterly basis. The latest version of these statistics can be found here:
