Please provide statistics for the number of deaths in England & Wales (and also London separately) which have been flagged as being gang related since 1990.

Thank you for your enquiry.
Although we routinely publish homicide data, we are unable to identify homicides that are flagged as gang related.
The most up to date homicide figures for England and Wales can be found in our ‘Homicide in England and Wales: year ending March 2017’ publication. Homicide data for London specifically can be found going back to 2003 in our ‘Recorded crime data at police force area level’ tables which were published alongside our ‘Crime in England and Wales: year ending December 2017’ publication.
Data regarding homicides is sourced from the Homicide Index, which is held and collated by the Home Office. They may be able to assist you further with your request. They can be contacted at the following email address: CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk.
If you would like any further information, you can email CrimeStatistics@ons.gov.uk and we will endeavour to help.
