You asked

Could you please provide me with the following information please from hospital admissions in England?

  1. The number of "stroke" admissions/cases listed month by month from 01st January 2020 to 21st December 2021.

  2. The number of "heart attack" admissions/cases listed month by month from 01st January 2020 to 21st December 2021.

  3. The number of "myocarditis" admissions/cases listed month by month from 01st January 2020 to 21st December 2021.

ONS are responsible for the production of mortality data for England and Wales, this is driven by information collected from death certificates at death registration.

ONS do not hold up-to-date information on hospitalisations with detailed hospital admission causes. Our data on hospital episodes is obtained from the Hospital Episode Statistics published by NHS Digital with an approximately 3 month delay. This data is used to determine pre-existing conditions and general health of individuals, but not to analyse recent hospitalisations. NHS Digital would be better placed to answer your enquiry.
