You asked
I am investigating the impact of social housing on crime and existing property prices. In order to investigate these relationships, I am making the request for the following datasets:
- Addresses of ALL social housing (council houses & flats, sheltered accommodation, and housing owned by a housing association) in England & Wales from 2011 to 2019
- Number of Violent Crime incidences (Postcode level data) in England and Wales from 2011 to 2019

Thank you for your request.
For data from 2012 to 2019, the ONS does not hold detailed data for all social housing units in England and Wales.
For data from 2011, this was collected as part of Census 2011. Data from the census is publicly available on the Nomis website, however data at address level cannot be shared as it would be disclosive. You can find more detail about statistical disclosure control for 2011 Census online.
If this does not meet your requirements, we may be available to commission bespoke analysis. Such services would be subject to legal frameworks, disclosure controls, resources and agreement of costs. If you would like to request this bespoke dataset, please contact census.customerservices@ons.gov.uk, to discuss your enquiry further. Please note, there may be a charge for this work which would be subject to our charging policy.
The Office for National Statistics publish data from the Crime Survey for England and Wales and police recorded crime. The lowest level we publish crime data for is Community Safety Partnership level, which is a similar geography to local authority. We do not publish or hold any data at postcode level.
You may find what you are looking for on the Police.UK website, as they do publish data at postcode level. You can find out more information about this on their 'About Police.UK' webpage or you can contact them directly at support@data.police.uk or via their contact page.
