Thank you for your request.
We are responsible for the production of mortality statistics for England and Wales. For Scotland and Northern Ireland data you will need to contact National Records of Scotland and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Centre, respectively.
We do not hold data on the diagnosis of these conditions as our statistics are produced from the death registration document. We have not produced any data on analysis on the percentage increase of deaths due to the causes specified.
Our annual Deaths Registered in England and Wales and Suicides in England and Wales publications provide figures for some of the causes in your request.
You are also able to extract the number of deaths and age standardised rates for each of the causes listed in your request using our NOMIS webservice. Please see the following instructions for using this service:
- Select the geography (England and Wales, regional or by local authority).
- Select Age - All ages or 5-year age bands.
- Select Gender - Total or Male/Female
- Select rates - All deaths, rates or percentage of population for example.
- Select cause of death (ICD10 code search is available).
- Select format (Excel or CSV for example)
You can then calculate the percentages and compare the figures over the years 2020 to 2022. 2023 data will be made available on this service in due course.
If this does not meet your needs, the requested information would need to be created as a custom output. Information on the percentage change in number of deaths due to specific causes from 2020 to 2023 along with other special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales may be available to order. Please note these services are subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs in line with our charging policy.
