You asked
Please provide statistics on incidences of knife crime in the UK as a whole as well as a breakdown of knife crime incidences localised to Greater London area only. If I could possibly get a time span covering the last 10 years it would be very helpful.

Thank you for your email for information on knife crime.
Police recorded knife or sharp instrument offences data are submitted to the Home Office via an additional special collection. This special collection includes the offences: homicide; attempted murder; threats to kill; assault with injury and assault with intent to cause serious harm; robbery; rape; and sexual assault. Data on offences involving a knife or sharp instrument began to be collected in April 2009; however, comparable data are only available from the year ending March 2011.
We publish knife or sharp instrument offence data alongside our quarterly 'Crime in England and Wales' bulletin. The latest data (covering the year ending March 2020) can be found in Tables P4, P5 and P6 of the Crime in England and Wales: Police Force Area data tables
The Home Office publish a series of open data tables on police recorded crimes broken down by police force area, financial year and quarter, and an equivalent open data table is available for crimes involving a knife or sharp instrument since 2009. This dataset includes some incidents where a knife may not have been used as a weapon. You can use these open data tables to select offences recorded in London.
If you have any questions regarding this data source, and any data available for the time period you are interested in, you can contact the Home Office. They can be reached at: CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gov.uk
The data referred to above only cover England and Wales; unfortunately, we do not hold police recorded crime data covering the whole of the UK.
