Thank you for your request
We publish knife or sharp instrument offences data alongside our quarterly 'Crime in England and Wales' bulletin. The lowest level geography available, is for police force area.
The number of 'knife and sharp instrument offences for The Metropolitan police 2011 to 2021 can be found in Table P7 of the Crime in England and Wales: Police Force Area data tables. The number of knife and sharp instrument offences by selected offences, such as robbery and homicide for the Metropolitan police force area for year ending June 2021 can be found in Table P5. These data are also available on our website back to year ending September 2015.
For the most up-to-date data for year ending March 2012 to year ending March 2021, you can access the Home Office open data tables for crimes involving a knife or sharp instrument. Stabbings will also be covered in these tables although they will be included in the offences 'attempted murder' and 'assaults with injury and assault with intent to cause serious harm', as well as 'homicide'.
Statistics related to stop and search are published by the Home Office. The latest publication can be found here: Police powers and procedures, England and Wales, year ending 31 March 2020
The Home Office can also be contacted directly at: CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gov.uk.
If you are looking for data at a smaller geographical area, such as London Borough of Newham, the Mayor's Office for Police and Crime (MOPAC) website may be useful to you as it provides a crime breakdown by borough. The MOPAC website contains its own data on crime, and this can be found at the following address:

You may also find the Metropolitan Police's website helpful: https://www.met.police.uk/sd/stats-and-data/.
If you go to their Accessing information page you can search all their previously published data on knifes and request further information.
If you require any further assistance, please email crimestatistics@ons.gov.uk and we will endeavour to help.
