Q1. Marriage statistics for England and Wales are based on the details collected when marriages are solemnised from information recorded in the marriage register. The marriage register does not contain information on ethnicity, nationality or country of birth. Information on nationality is collected by Registrars on marriage notice forms but we do not have access to this data. Consequently it is not possible for us to provide the figures requested.

Q2. 2016 births is the latest available annual dataset we have available, 2017 birth statistics will be available July 2018. We publish birth statistics based on parents' country of birth, using the groupings of UK-born parents and EU-born parents. Data for 2007 to 2016 can be found here:

https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/livebirths/datasets/parentscountryofbirth

See Table 3 for country of birth of mother and of father for live births in England and Wales.

Data for 2004 to 2006 are available in Birth statistics (Series FM1):

See Table 9.3 for country of birth of mother and of father for live births in England and Wales.

If you require different groupings of country of birth of mothers and fathers, special extracts and tabulations of births data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate). Such enquiries should be made to: vsob@ons.gov.uk. Please note that the latest available annual data we have available is for 2016. Q3. We do not hold any data on the number of non-UK EU children in the UK. We would be able to provide a partial answer relating to children who reside with at least one of their parents within the household; however, this would be chargeable. Please send this ad-hoc request through the mailbox: families@ons.gov.uk. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us on pop.info@ons.gov.uk.
