Please can you share the number of internet cafes in the UK, from 1994-2024, in a year-by-year breakdown.

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request enquiring the number of internet cafes from 1994 to 2024.
Unfortunately, we do not hold statistics on the number of Internet Cafes specifically. We hold data at a 5-digit Standard Industrial Classification on Inter Departmental Business Register (IDBR). Internet cafes are classified under 'SIC 61900 Other telecommunications activities'. Please note, such SIC includes other business descriptions. Here is further information on SIC codes.
Data for the number of businesses falling under SIC 61900 can be ordered via our bespoke services route. These services are subject to legal frameworks, resources, disclosure controls, and an agreement of costs in line with the ONS Charging Policy.
