You asked
I would like to know the number of people born on each calendar day in the UK for the past 32 years.
I anticipate this would take the form of a dataset of one column and 11,867 rows, each containing the number of births registered as occurring that day across the UK.
For my purposes, any other meaningful districting of the UK would be useful, e.g. births occurring only in England.

Thank you for your request.
Within our Birth characteristics release we publish the number of live births by date. These figures can be found in Table 18 of the release and our data ranges from 1996 to 2017 in England and Wales. The Birth characteristics data can be found:
Unfortunately, we do not hold breakdowns of live births by date for England and Wales individually. Nor are we responsible for publishing births data for Scotland and Northern Ireland. For births data for those respective countries please see:
- National Records of Scotland (NRS): https://www.nrscotland.gov.uk/statistics-and-data/statistics/statistics-by-theme/vital-events/births
- Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA): https://www.nisra.gov.uk/statistics/births-deaths-and-marriages/births
If you would like country breakdowns for a longer time range, we may be able to create what you have requested, or something similar, as a bespoke analysis. Any such analysis would be outside of the Freedom of Information regime and would be subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreement of costs where appropriate. If this is something you would be interested in, please contact vsob@ons.gov.uk, for any births related enquiries, so that we may discuss your enquiry further.
