You asked
Please provide the number of people in the public sector who have lost their jobs to date since this Conservative Government came in, in particular, from all the reduced local authority offices etc.

Thank you for your request.
Unfortunately, the number of people to lose their jobs does not exist within the Public Sector Employment (PSE) official statistics.
However, as of June 2015, for the Conservative Government elected in May of that year, the public sector headcount was 5,552,000 (seasonally adjusted). As of September 2020, the public sector headcount was 5,560,000 (seasonally adjusted), an increase of 8,000.
When considering the changes in headcount totals, it should be borne in mind that as well as organisational changes within the public sector, there are organisations that enter and leave the public sector.
