I would like the statistics on women committing suicide in England in 2017, and also more specifically women committing suicide in the month of October 2017
I would also like the number of instances of people committing suicide inside or in the precincts of St Paul's Cathedral, London from the past decade.

Many thanks for your recent request.
You asked for statistics on women who died by suicide in England in 2017, and also more specifically women who died by suicide in the month of October 2017. You also asked for the number of instances of people dying by suicide inside or in the precincts of St Paul's Cathedral, London from the past decade.
Provisional numbers of suicides in England registered in Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 of 2017, the most recent time period available, can be found at the following link:
We are only notified of a death after it is registered. In 2016, the median registration delays for females who died by suicide was 153 days, therefore it is not possible to provide estimates of deaths that occurred in October 2017 at this time as more time is needed for the deaths to be registered.
We would be unable to provide statistics on the number of people that died by suicide in St Paul's Cathedral as the number would be deemed to be disclosive. Under s.39 of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007, personal information held by us (including information that identifies a body corporate), must not be disclosed. Because the release of the information you have requested is prohibited by law, s.44 of the Freedom of Information Act 2007 applies.
Special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate). Such enquiries should be made to: mortality@ons.gov.uk. We recommend that you contact the Mortality Analysis team directly in order to discuss your data requirements in more detail.
