You asked

I would like to make a FOI request pertaining to the number of second generation Pakistanis in the UK who were born to parents, of Pakistani descent, that migrated to the UK.

Our census collects information about an individual's ethnic group and country of birth, but we do not ask respondents about the ethnic group or country of birth of their parents. Therefore, we are unable to provide the information requested from census data.

We do publish annual statistics on the registration of Births by parents' country of birth, England and Wales - Office for National Statistics. The most recent release covers data for 2023. Data for previous years are available from the download page Parents' country of birth - Office for National Statistics.

For similar data for Scotland and Northern Ireland, you would need to contact their respective statistical offices separately.
