You asked
Does the ONS (or another government body) collect suicide rate data by ethnic minority - for example, the suicide rate among Filipinos in the UK.
If such data is collected, what are the suicide rates of different ethnic minorities in the UK and how do they compare with each other?
In particular - if data exists - what is the suicide rate of FIlipinos and the children of Filipinos in the UK?

Thank you for your query regarding suicides by ethnic group.
Mortality data published by the Office for National Statistics is collected from the information provided at death registration and covers all deaths occurring in England and Wales. Information on the ethnicity of the deceased is not collected at death registration as is therefore not available. We are unaware if any other government department would hold this information.
In relation to deaths in the UK, please note that the Office for National Statistics only holds data on deaths occurring in England and Wales. Figures for Scotland can be obtained from the National Records of Scotland. Figures for Northern Ireland can be obtained from the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency.
Special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate). Such enquiries should be made to: mortality@ons.gov.uk. We recommend that you contact the Mortality Analysis team directly in order to discuss your data requirements in more detail.
