You asked
I would like to know roughly the total number of people who have entered the UK in boats from France and who are currently being housed in various accommodation premises in the last 2 years please.
We said
Thank you for your request.
On 25 June 2021, we published the latest long-term international migration estimates (LTIM), to inform the mid-year population estimates. You will see that the LTIM estimates do not include data about the route used to enter the UK so we are unable to provide information about the official sea routes (scheduled ferry services) from France to the UK.
For information about the numbers of people arriving by boat via unofficial routes the Home Office, and particularly, Border Force, are better placed to provide help with your enquiry.
Our latest position on unofficial entry to the UK remains that set out in measuring illegal migration published in 2019.
