The unemployment rate across the city of Manchester from the following periods:

  • 2015/16 to date

  • 2006

  • 1996

  • 1986

The unemployment rates for all local authorities, including Manchester, are published monthly as part of the regional labour market statistical bulletin in dataset M01: Modelled unemployment for local and unitary authorities. This dataset has the full timeseries of unemployment rates back to 1996/97. Prior to this unemployment rates are only available for regions.
