Why has the map published in Figure 6 of the following publication, Deaths involving COVID-19 by local area and socioeconomic deprivation: deaths occurring between 1 March and 31 July 2020, not been updated since the summer?

Thank you for your enquiry.
Our Deaths involving COVID-19 by local area and socioeconomic deprivation publication and dataset has been paused since the summer, due to the decrease in the number of COVID-19 related deaths.
Whilst the number of infections has risen, the count of deaths is still low in some areas. Producing data to Middle-layer Super Output Area (MSOA) produces very low numbers in certain areas, making it entirely possible to identify individual records. We are currently unable to provide this level of aggregation for this data in line with our disclosure control policy: Policy on protecting confidentiality in tables of birth and death statistics
Please see the following link to our Weekly death publication by local authority and health board, which is the lowest aggregation we have available at the moment. This publication is updated every Tuesday.
We are looking to include deaths at MSOA level in our Monthly Mortality Analysis publication, provisionally scheduled for release on 17 December 2020.
