As this information is already available to you via this route ONS considers that S21(1) applies to this request and the information does not have to be supplied under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act. S21(1) is an absolute exemption and no consideration of the public interest test needs to be applied.
With regards to the immigration aspect of your request:
The UN recommendation for defining an international long-term migrant is used by ONS. That is, a migrant is someone who changes his or her country of usual residence for a period of at least a year, so that the country of destination effectively becomes the country of usual residence. There are no criteria of minimum length of stay for internal flow (within UK) of migration.
Long-term international migration and internal migration estimates for Wales:
Mid-year to mid-year estimates, Wales
Internal (within UK) migration inflow
International migration inflow
Mid-2012 to mid-2013
55,000
13,700
Note: These estimates are rounded to the nearest hundred.
These mid-year international migration figures for Wales are taken from the components of change used in the mid-year population estimates and will differ from the official estimates of long-term international migration (LTIM).
Please note that these mid-year estimates are published annually in June for the previous year. These estimates are combined alongside population estimates and other data sources as part of our Local Area Migration Indicators Suite published in August.
Calendar year estimates for long-term international migration are published annually in November for the calendar year 11 months previous. These use a different methodology to the mid-year population estimates components of change.
Specifically, these data can be found in table '2.06 LTIM Area of Destination or Origin within the UK'.
