CensusAtSchool: students learning about census and statistics
The Office for National Statistics has teamed up with the Royal Statistical Society Centre for Statistical Education (RSSCSE) to give students an opportunity to learn more about statistics and the importance of the census.
By providing teachers with the tools to present statistics in the context of everyday life, CensusAtSchool is helping to give students a practical insight into the many different patterns of behaviour and lifestyle that people adopt – and why. CensusAtSchool helps young people to understand the importance of the census in identifying people’s needs, so that services can be provided for them, their families and friends.
Schools and teachers can access free educational resources from the CensusAtSchool website to bring lively and interactive teaching materials into the classroom.
