A 2011 UK Census output consultation was carried out by the three UK census offices (Office for National Statistics, National Records of Scotland, and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency) via an online survey which ran from 25 February 2008 for approximately 12 weeks. The aim of the consultation was to find out what users of the 2011 Census want from the data we gather and to help us prioritise identified output needs, with a focus on high level output issues. Topics covered include products, access, dissemination and metadata.
The survey was supplemented by a 2011 UK Census outputs website run in conjunction with the Hansard society. This provided users with the opportunity to elaborate on issues raised in the survey through participation in a blog. Topics for discussion were raised regularly on the blog by the census offices to provide opportunities for users to exchange and discuss ideas and views on census output issues.
