Definition
The number of people in the household who have any physical or mental health conditions or illnesses lasting or expected to last 12 months or more that reduces their ability to carry out day-to-day activities a little. The extent of the limitation gives an indication of severity of disability.
This definition of a disabled person meets the harmonised standard for measuring disability and is in line with the Equality Act (2010).
