2016 Census Test in Telford and the Wrekin
We asked selected residents in Telford and the Wrekin for their opinions and tested some new systems and technologies. The test was mainly online because the 2021 Census will be mainly online.
This was part of a series of tests designed to help us get ready for the next census in 2021.
Thanks to participants’ time, we learned valuable lessons that will help us to do that.
Background
A census is held in England and Wales every 10 years. It gathers information about the population and housing, so that government can plan and fund public services.
