Provides files to download data as it existed for this dataset on previous dates.

Statistics are most often revised for 1 of 2 reasons:

  1. For certain statistics initial estimates are released with the expectation that these may be revised and updated as further data becomes available.
  2. Revisions may also be made when methods or systems are changed.

These types of planned revisions should not be confused with errors in released statistics, which are genuine mistakes. Such mistakes occur rarely and, when they do happen, corrections are made in a timely manner, announced and clearly explained to users in line with the Code of Practice for Official Statistics (Principle 2, Practice 7).

We are updating our output per hour productivity estimates published as part of the Productivity Overview, UK, April to June 2022. The updated data takes on board reweighted labour force survey data for Quarter 2 (Apr to June) 2021 to Quarter 4 (Oct to Dec) 2021 which had previously not been picked up by our systems due to a technical issue. Output per hour worked relative to the 2019 average grew by 1.7% and not 1.8% as originally estimated. There are no revisions to the output per job and output per worker datasets.

We have corrected an error that left some data columns blank unintentionally in several tables. The previous version had no data for SIC division 80-82 on Tables 9-13 and 36-41. It had no data for the market sector on Tables 8, 10, 12, 13, 35, 37, 39, 40 and 41. It had no data for some industries on Tables 50-57. It should have had data for some of these industries, and should have included a note above some tables explaining that some columns were blank intentionally, where data are not available. In particular, data should have been available for SIC division 80-82 on Tables 9-13 and 36-41, and for market sector hours worked on Tables 10 and 37. Data should have been available for SIC divisions 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28 on Tables 52-55. This happened because of a technical fault.
