Figures are based on deaths that were registered in England and Wales in 2023 and 2024. Figures only include deaths that were registered by 18 October 2024, so will be an underestimate due to registration delays. Further information on registration delays for a range of causes can be found on the ONS website. Figures for 2024 are provisional.
