This table provides 2011 Census estimates that classify all usual residents with Roma or Gypsy/Romany ethnic identity (write-in responses) by Ethnic identity (write-in responses) in the United Kingdom on census day (27 March 2011).
Census England and Wales (ONS) : This table reports ethnic group write-in responses without reference to the five broad ethnic group categories, eg, all Gypsy/Romany people, irrespective of whether they are White, Mixed/multiple ethnic groups, Asian/Asian British, Black/African/Caribbean/Black British or Other ethnic group, are in the "Gypsy/Romany" response category.
Census Northern Ireland (NISRA) : The Roma category includes Mixed Ethnic Group: Roma and Other Ethnic Group: Roma. The Gypsy/Romany category includes White: Gypsy/Romany and Other Ethnic Group: Gypsy/Romany.
Census Scotland (NRS) : The Roma category includes codes 1700 and 2700. The Gypsy/Romany category : 1013, 2013, 5013, 7013.
