We have corrected the population estimates for self-reported long COVID by Index of Multiple Deprivation quintile in Tables 1-4 (column D). The percentage reporting long COVID (column E) remains unchanged.
In the previous version the population estimates were calculated on the basis of the number of people in the sample for each deprivation quintile, scaled up to the full population size. The full population in each IMD quintile should have been adjusted to reflect the correct distribution in each quintile (approximately one fifth of the population in each). The effect of this is that the previous version underestimates the number of people with long COVID in the most deprived quintiles and over-estimates the number of people with long COVID in the least deprived quintiles.
This happened because of a human error.
