Summary of request
The tables include both mean and median equivalised disposable income. These are calculated by assigning the disposable income to each household rather than to all individuals within that household. Disposable income has been adjusted to exclude housing costs (such as council tax, mortgage payments), holiday spending, life assurance and pension contributions, other insurance payments, spending on the purchase or alteration of dwellings, savings and investments and pay-off loans. The earner category relates to those above and below the median equivalised disposable income for that financial year. The household reference person age is used to assign a household to an age band. The household reference person is the person with the main responsibility for the property (the person who owns the property or who is legally responsible for the rent).
