Summary

This year’s Blue Book includes large scale changes to the sector and financial accounts including the separation of household and non-profit institutions serving households sectors. Due to the amount of work involved the decision has been taken to delay the publication of historic sector and financial accounts data prior to 1997 while we complete final quality assurance of this part of the dataset. We appreciate user interest in these historic data and plan to publish them as soon as possible and no later than 31 October 2017.

GDP series and the current account balance are not affected and will be published from 1948 annually and 1955 quarterly as planned. We apologise for any inconvenience.

  Distribution and use of income account and capital account, financial account and balance sheet quarterly data for non-financial corporations and sub-sectors.

• UK Economic Accounts: institutional sector - financial corporations

  Income, capital and financial account and balance sheet data for monetary corporations, other intermediaries, auxiliaries, insurance corporations and pension funds.

• UK Economic Accounts: institutional sector - rest of the world

  Distribution and use of income account and capital account, financial account and balance sheet quarterly data for the rest of the world.

• UK Economic Accounts: balance of payments - current account

  Quarterly transactions in trade in goods and services, primary, secondary and investment income, transactions with EU and non-EU countries and capital account.

• UK Economic Accounts: balance of payments - international investment position

  Quarterly end-of-period balance sheet levels of UK external assets and liabilities, including direct, portfolio and other investment, sector analysis and government reserve assets.

• UK Economic Accounts: main aggregates

  Quarterly national accounts aggregates, per head data. These include gross domestic product by income and expenditure, gross value added, gross fixed capital formation, change in inventories, gross operating surplus and revisions.
